Posted by lrath on October 26, 2007

Listen to the weekly series of audio podcasts, The Sounds of Science, from the National Academies discussing a “wide range of critical issues in science, engineering, and medicine”. The 10-minute episodes present key findings and recommendations made by the Academies, and many cover public affairs and public policy issues. Some podcasts are companions to electronic books. (see below)

Example podcasts include:

  • Multiple Origins, Uncertain Destinies: Hispanics and the American Future
  • None of Your Business: Privacy in the Information Age
  • Uninsured in America
  • Treating Infectious Diseases in a Microbial World
  • Critical Issues in Transportation

To read about the National Academies free online books and a brief description about the academies, read the earlier post National Academies Press Electronic Books.
