Library Installs New Photocopiers – New Copy Cards Needed

Posted by lrath on November 9, 2007

The library has installed new photocopiers on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. The library listened and responded to student comments regarding paper jams, old machines, and other frustrations. We hope you will be patient as the transition with the new machines may cause a few bumps for now … but it will lead to better and more dependable service.

  • Black and white copies cost 10 cents per page using a copy card and 15 cents a page using cash.
  • A color photocopier is available on the third floor (95 cents/page).
  • A copy card dispenser is located on the 3rd floor.
  • Please note that copy cards that were issued for the old photocopiers will not work on the new photocopiers, because the service is operated by a different vendor.
  • A few of the old photocopiers are available for use on the 3rd and 4th floors for a brief period (maybe up to two weeks). You can use the balance on your old Copico cards on these machines only.

The copy cards for the new photocopiers may also be used at the following locations on campus:

  • Newman Vertical Campus (2nd floor): accepts coins, currency, and copy cards
  • BCTC computer lab (6th floor of the Library Building): accepts copy cards only

Baruch College students may continue to print from computers in the library using their student technology fee printing allocations.  Other library users must purchase a copy card for vended laser printing (the new copy card system will be installed for vended laser printing soon). A new microfilm reader/printer using the new copy card system will also be available soon.

Let us know what you think of the new machines! Post comments here!
