Electronic Books in Newman Library Databases

Posted by lrath on March 31, 2008

Newman Library subscribes to a few databases providing access to ebooks:

  • Books24X7 – 3,000+ full-text electronic books on databases, programming, software engineering, networking, security, operating systems, hardware, office applications, multimedia applications, operating systems, and more from 80+ publishers. NOTE: To access Baruch’s subscription, register with your Baruch e-mail address. You will be sent an e-mail with log-on information.
  • ebrary – is a collection of thousands of online full text books and other materials in a variety of subject areas.
  • netLibrary – is a collection of full-text e-books, including 860 titles purchased by CUNY and the entire 4,000 volume netLibrary Public eBook Collection. netLibrary titles are listed in the CUNY+ catalog. netLibrary requires each user to register before checking out titles.

You can connect and search directly in the databases or find these books while searching in the library’s catalog, CUNY+ (it will be listed as an electronic resource). To access, just click on the link. If off campus, you will be prompted to type in your Baruch username and password. You may also be required to register with the database.
